Privacy Policy

Random Character Generator is built to be privacy-friendly. This policy explains what we collect (very little) and how we handle it. By using the site, you agree to this policy.

Information we don’t collect

We do not require an account, and you don’t need to give us any personal information to use the generators. The Classic character generator runs entirely in your browser, and the characters you generate are not stored on our servers or associated with you.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate: which pages are visited, how people found us (for example, a search engine or another website), rough location at the country and city level, device and browser type, and which features are used (such as generating a character or an image, copying, downloading, or following a suggested next tool).

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) so it can tell visits apart. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We don’t send the text of generated characters, image prompts, or any email address you give us to analytics, and we don’t use analytics data for advertising.

To opt out, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or block cookies or scripts in your browser. The generators keep working either way.

Optional AI generation

If you use an optional “Generate with AI” feature, your selected filters are sent to our server, which calls a third-party AI provider to create a character. We log only technical metadata (provider, model, timing, and error type) for reliability — not the full content of what you generate. Provider API keys are kept server-side and never exposed to your browser.

Optional AI portraits

If you press “Generate image” on a character, we send a text description of that character to a third-party image provider (KIE) to draw the portrait. The description is written by the generator, not typed by you. The finished image is stored in our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) at a hard-to-guess address so you can view and download it, and it is deleted automatically after 30 days. It isn’t linked to you or to any account. We log only technical metadata (model, success or error type), not the image or its description.

Abuse protection

To keep the AI features available and their cost under control, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that requests come from a real browser, and we count AI requests per IP address to enforce rate limits. These counters expire automatically within two days and aren’t used for anything else.

Optional email waitlist

If you choose to leave your email address to hear about upcoming image packs, we store that address with the date and which page you were on. We use it only to send a single email if the packs launch. If we decide not to launch them, we delete the list. We never sell or share it, and we don’t send it to analytics. To have your address removed sooner, contact us through the contact page.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics cookies described above. We don’t use advertising cookies, and the site doesn’t need cookies to work: you can block them and still use every generator.

Children’s privacy

The site is family-safe and intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
